The M10-400 is an evaluation board for the Texas Instruments DRV11873 driver chip which can be used to control a wide range of brushless motors, such as the 912-101 brushless vibration motor or the 712-100 BLDC motor.
Brushless motors benefit from an extra long life, achieved by removing the precious metal brushes which wear against the commutator. As a result, these motors are electrically commutated and require a special driver for correct operation.
This evaluation board provides access to all input and output pins for the DRV11873 and is set to drive a delta wound brushless motor ‘out-the-box’. With onboard PWM generation no external components are required, and to aid the development process the PWM and other signals can be easily connected to other devices via the SMD test points.
The board supports up to 17 V and 2 A (peak) output, which can be varied through onboard resistor. For a detailed look at the operation of the M10-400, the user guide is included in the datasheet which is available for download above.
